Who we are

We are Dan and Louise Goodman. We are a small farm and creamery. We therefore don't collect much personal information, but for UK data protection law we need to explain how we collect and use the information we do collect.

Lawful bases and data protection rights

  • Legitimate interests – we’re collecting or using your information because it benefits you, our organisation or someone else, without causing an undue risk of harm to anyone. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to portability. Our legitimate interests are:

    • We may rely on legitimate interests to send you marketing where you or your employer makes a purchase or takes steps to do so, and either you are a business contact or you a consumer and you didn\'t opt out of marketing at the time of the purchase and we can rely on the "soft opt-in". We also rely on legitimate interests to review our purchase and marketing history to inform our future business (e.g. which products are selling well\/not, which new products customers are asking for or may like, how customers find us and when they return to us, and how our marketing and social media performs (such as if people like particular content or what to know more about certain parts of the business)).

Where we get personal information from, who we share it with and how long we keep it

In most circumstances, we get personal information directly from you (e.g. you subscribe to our emails, use our website, like a social media post or send us an email or other communication). We may also receive information from publicly available sources or a supplier or service provider (e.g. if you are a business contact or interact with us through an IT provider).

We keep your information as long as we reasonably have a reason to do so.

We do not generally share personal information. However, there are limited circumstances where we do so:

  • Our data processors, including our IT service providers (e.g. email, website, order systems) and our delivery providers

  • Other suppliers and service providers where they are not processors (e.g. our staff if they are not employees)

  • Professional or legal advisors

  • Financial or fraud investigation authorities

  • External auditors or inspectors

  • Organisations we’re legally obliged to share personal information with

  • Publicly on our website, social media or other marketing and information media
